British-Irish Council summit on energy policy and economic recovery: press conference; Question from press to Enda Kenny SOT- When you have been talking to your colleagues what you have been telling them about Ireland's campaign to get a reduction on the interest rate it is paying on its loan? / What is your view of the chenges the EU finance ministers have agreed today on the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) - will that make it easier for Ireland to return to the markets?Enda Kenny (Irish Prime Minsiter / Taoiseach) press conference SOT - Had a bilateral with Alex Salmond and Carwyn Jones in respect to issues of mutual interest - for example sectarianism / There have been some brilliant progress made by Scotland in respect of nuclear energy / If you look at recent meetings I think its proper that elective representatives should discuss where they have similarities of purpose / Didn't have detailed discussions at summit about Irish interest rate reductions / I did give members a review of the Irish economy / As far as the change in the ESM is concerned I would regard this as being positive for Europe and not just Ireland / The purchases of bonds will give a sense of confidence / In regard to this decision I believe that it is positive from a European perspective
