Memorial Service For Queen Elizabeth II At St Paul's Cathedral In Kampala
KAMPALA, UGANDA - SEPTEMBER 15: A cathedral Dean speaks during a memorial service for Queen Elizabeth II at St Paul's Cathedral on September 15, 2022 in Kampala, Uganda. Queen Elizabeth II died at Balmoral Castle in Scotland on September 8, 2022, and is succeeded by her eldest son, King Charles III. Whilst Uganda is part of the Commonwealth, Uganda became independent in 1962, Elizabeth II remained head of state as Queen of Uganda until the link with the British monarchy was severed on October 9, 1963. Queen Elizabeth II visited Uganda in both April 1954 and November 2007, and The Kazinga National Park, in the west of Uganda, was renamed Queen Elizabeth National Park in 1954 to commemorate her visit.
