Civil rights activist and National Director of Congress of Racial Equality (CORE), Floyd McKissick, comments on race and the civil rights movement, he responds to a question (not heard) asking if he thinks their movement has been stirring things up "I don't think we've been 'stirring things up', we've only been exercising constitutional rights- and then I'm not afraid of stirring things up in the last analysis in the first place, because things need to be stirred up, things need to be agitated, some change has got to be made and I think agitation is what brings about the change, you have an agitator in a washer and that's what gets the dirt out sometimes, and maybe we just need to let some agitators run full blast here."
