Clashes erupt in Athens after march commemorating teen killed by police

ATHENS, GREECE - DEC. 6, 2024: Clashes broke out in Athens after a march commemorating Alexis Grigoropoulos, a 15-year-old boy who was fatally shot by police in 2008.According to Greek state broadcaster ERT, approximately 5,000 people joined the march on the 16th anniversary of Grigoropoulos’ death.Tensions escalated in the Exarchia neighborhood, where the teenager was killed. Some protesters threw Molotov cocktails at police, who responded with tear gas.
