Congressman Buck cites company whose products replicated by Amazon at House antitrust hearing
Colorado Congressman Ken Buck says at a House Judiciary antitrust subcommittee hearing with executives from Amazon, Apple, Alphabet and Facebook that investigators had heard from a number of companies that Amazon uses proprietary data from third-party companies to launch its own private label products, each with them to discuss investing and then uses proprietary data to create its own products and allows sale of counterfeit items, Pop Socket CEO and investor David Barnett detailing including on CNBC how counterfeit products were put to sale on Amazon Marketplace in the Wall Street Journal detailed its use of third-party sales including the week before how Amazon's venture capital fund use meetings with unsuspecting startup companies to gain access, the information used to launch competing products with often disastrous results for the original startup company.
