Coronation of King Charles Earl Marshal statement; Part 2 of 4ENGLAND: London:INTEdward, Duke of Norfolk (Earl Marshal) statement SOT- The Coronation Service itself will last for two hours and remain a sacred Anglican service / but there will also be representation from other faiths to reflect the diversity of modern Britain / the King has taken a keen interest in the music and twelve new compositions will be performed during the Service - There has been some uncertainty about public participation in parts of the Service during the homage / the Archbishop has helpfully clarified what is planned / but let me just recall the key points now for the avoidance of doubt / as a part of the liturgy, members of the congregation and others may wish to show support for the King, can do so in several different ways / with a moment of quiet reflection, or by saying 'God save the King' at the end, or for those with the words before them, to recite them in full / there is no request or expectation to do so / but this enables anybody who does wish to participate alongside those in the Abbey congregation, to do so if they wish / in an opportunity to widen engagement, provision has also been made for young people to enjoy the service from St Margaret's Church while on the processional route, military veterans, NHS and charity workers and others will occupy specially built stands in The Mall and in front of Buckingham Palace for provision with those with accessibility needs - Before the Service, Their Majesties will travel from Buckingham Palace in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach to the West Door of the Abbey where they will be met by the Dean and Archbishop of Canterbury, who will conduct the Service - After the Service, Their Majesties will return to Buckingham Palace by the same route / this time in the magnificent gold State Coach which has been used in every coronation since George IV in 1821 / they will be accompanied for this journey by the Coronation P...
