Government to put 'rocket-boosters' under creative industries to future-proof them - Lisa Nandy
Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy told the International Investment summit she 'couldn't be more excited' that the UK has elevated the creative industries to be right at the heart of Labour's industrial strategy, and that this Government intends to put 'rocket boosters' under it in order to future-proof it. Panel guest, Maria Balshaw, director of The Tate, announced that the UK's art market is 17% of the world market, more than the rest of Europe put together, third only to the US and China and that soft power is felt across continents around the globe, with artists like Tracey Emin leading the way.
