MPs expenses scandal: David Cameron interview and apology; ENGLAND: London: INTDavid Cameron MP (Conservative Leader) chatting to Andrew Castle (TV Presenter / Former Tennis Player) (not heard) / David Cameron MP (Conservative Leader) towards and speaking to press SOT- I'm very pleased this information has been made public / public have a right to know about MPs expenses / people will be disappointed however with the amount of information that is held back or redacted / some information is very private, but we need a more common sense approach to releasing this information and I hope we can do that in future / I have been through my accounts in great detail and I have discovered an inadvertent error I made in 2006 with respect to some mortgage payments, an over-claim of 200 pounds and I've paid that money back today to the fees office along with other announcements I've made previously / I'm very sorry about making a mistake like this, but the best thing to do is to deal with it as quickly as possible / it took a very long time to get to the bottom of this particular mortgage claim, I had to try and find the statements from the mortgage company, go through my own bank accounts, go through through fees office details, all the claims...it was quite complicated / I wanted to get it right, as soon as I got the information to hand, I made the announcement today and returned the money today / an inadvertent mistake but one that nonetheless I'm very sorry to have made
