Doctor explains how to use a diaphragm, UK; 1970

A doctor explains how to use a cap (diaphragm) as a barrier method of contraception. She says, 'Well, don't be horrified by the size - after all, they look big, but you've got to remember that there's enough room for a baby's head to get out. So when you put it in, you squeeze it up like that so that it slides in quite easily and it fits over the neck of your womb.' Filmed as part of an educational programme about contraception at a Family Planning Association clinic. UK; Recorded in 1969, broadcast in 1970. (LSF5740W - AEVZ001J)
