Likely 'Very Well Formed Dust Devil' Spotted in Ogden, Utah
A dusty whirlwind was spotted in the north Utah city of Ogden on July 28. The National Weather Service (NWS) https://twitter.com/NWSSaltLakeCity/status/1420530498879725570 said the vortex was likely "a very well formed dust devil or a very weak landspout at best, produced by localized rotation at the surface." "Tornadoes and funnel clouds are much more powerful and originate from deep in-cloud rotation," the service said. This footage by Ashley Bowden shows the dust devil swirling as it extends skyward.
