MADRID, SPAIN - OCTOBER 19: Exterior of Sobrino de Botin which is part of the Association of Century-Old restaurants and taverns, which has been created by a total of twelve establishments to consolidate traditional gastronomy and to spread its history and tradition. According to the Association: "Candido Remis, the famous “Nephew of Botin” (of Jean Botin, a French chef who had a restaurant in Plaza de Herradores), opened this establishment next to the Arco de Cuchilleros archway in 1725. Its famous roast lamb and suckling pig have been enjoyed by writers like Galdos, Arniches, Camba, Valle Inclan and Hemingway, and by politicians, bullfighters and actors, among others. One of the paintings on its walls shows a view of 16th century Madrid painted in 1956 by Pierre Schild, a mysterious Russian art-director remembered in particular for the sets he created for films made by Bunuel and Edgar Neville."
