India's Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered nationwide civil defence mock drills on May 7 across over 240 districts to test and enhance emergency preparedness in light of rising security concerns after the recent Pahalgam terror attack. The drills will involve activating air raid sirens, training civilians and students on protective measures, blackout rehearsals, camouflaging vital infrastructure, and updating and practising evacuation plans to ensure readiness for potential hostile attacks.
