COUNTY WEXFORD, IRELAND - JANUARY 28: Floodwaters started to recede in Enniscorthy, County Wexford, on Wednesday, Jan. 28, following heavy rainfall during Storm Chandra, which hit Ireland.The rainfall had caused widespread flooding across the town a day earlier.Businesses along the River Slaney were affected, with water entering shops, cafes and offices.Workers began repair efforts, including pumping out water and clearing debris.Authorities warned that additional rainfall could lead to renewed flooding in low-lying areas.Hundreds of schools are closed in Northern Ireland and England while more than two dozen flights are canceled at Belfast City Airport, according to reports.Heavy rain and strong winds also had a significant effect on transportation, with train services disrupted across the UK.Sections of several roads in Dorset, Somerset and East Devon in South West England are closed due to flooding, while a severe danger-to-life flood warning covers Ottery St Mary in Devon, with "deep and fast flowing" flood water expected.Separately, there are almost 120 other warnings in place across England.Meanwhile, snow is falling on higher ground in some northern parts of England and Scotland.Heavy snow has closed roads in County Durham, while the Scottish train operating company, ScotRail, reported that speed restrictions caused delays and route revisions to some servicesSky News reported that several football matches have been postponed in Scotland due to the storm, as wind speeds and gusts pose a risk to safety.Storm Chandra has become the third major storm to hit the UK this month after Storm Goretti and Storm Ingrid.(Footage by Mostafa Darwish /Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
