Congressman Webster and White House Science Director discuss China's efforts to set global AI standards

Florida Congressman Daniel Webster and White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Director Michael Kratsios discuss what would happen if China's standards were adopted for AI, with Kratsios looking back to telecom issues during his first Trump Administration time with concentrated effort by the PRC to promulgate their 5G standards and export their Huawei connectivity stack to the global south, spending far too long running around the world making the point that this was potentially dangerous with backdoors and better Western alternatives, but essentially damage had already been done, so the administration is trying to prioritize through their export program making sure the US is the first mover at a House Science, Space, and Technology Subcommittee on Research and Technology hearing on America's AI Action Plan.
