Gunmen fought an intense battle against security forces in different spots in the western city of Culiacán, Sinaloa of Thursday, October 17, forcing residents to run for shelter. According to reports, the shootouts were triggered by the arrest of Ovidio Guzman, a son of Joaquín 'El Chapo' Guzmán, a Mexican drug lord and former leader of the Sinaloa Cartel.
