Harrison Ford interview; Part 2 of 4ENGLAND: London:INTHarrison Ford (Actor) interview SOTQ: ARE YOU A PERFECTIONIST- I'm a pragmatist with perfectionist leanings / I would like it to be perfect but I know it ain't gonna happen / it's a very haphazard complicated business making movies / sometimes, the rougher version is the better version / things that are a little more tangential can come across as more realistic than hitting the bullseye of an idea every time, so I'm very pragmaticQ: HOW DO YOU GET INTO YOUR CHARACTERS, WHAT LENGTHS DO YOU GO TO- I do some research that's particular to the kind of person I'm playing / in this case I play a vascular surgeon so I was able with the Head of Department of Surgery at the University of Chicago to scrub and attend and assist in a very minor way in a couple of operations / I just wanted to know what the atmosphere of an operating theatre is really like; what the relationships are that are most important in that room / how a surgeon turns his body when he's putting on a gown when he's done it a thousand times, not when he's done it three or four times as I might do / little minutiae makes a big difference in the creation of realityQ: ANY IDEA WHAT YOUR NEXT PROJECT IS GOING TO BE- Yes, in two months I start Clear and Present Danger, which is a follow-up to Patriot Games / Phillip Noyce, who directed Patriot Games is going to direct againQ: ARE THERE ANY FILMS YOU'VE DONE SO FAR THAT YOU WISH YOU EITHER HADN'T DONE OR DONE DIFFERENTLY- It's been a long time since I did a movie that I felt I shouldn't have done; I mean twenty years / as far as having wished that I had done something different I can say that almost about every scene / if I were to look at a film I'm sure I'd feel 'I wish I had done that/I've got an idea' / that's always the caseQ: ARE YOU HAPPY WITH THEY WAY YOUR CAREER IS GOING NOW- Well I'm enormously happy with the opportunities I've had, the luck that I've had in my ...
