Congressman Hensarling worries Fed balance sheet outside mandates

House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling of Texas says at a routine hearing with Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell that after letting the roll-off schedule run for about four years, the balance sheet of the Federal Reserve was in danger of not returning to a more manageable size, stating an unconventional balance sheet could threaten the integrity of the conduct of Fed policy.
