Jeb Hensarling supports resolution rescinding non-arbitration rule

House Financial Services Committee Chairman Jeb Hensarling of Texas opens debate on a resolution disapproving of an arbitration rule issued by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, arguing that Washington has allowed unaccountable bureaucrats to overreach and over regulate, that the Bureau is so radical and extreme that the DC Circuit Court of Appeals declared its structure, unconstitutional, that the regulation would deprive consumers of a low-cost way to resolve legal disputes, that it would perpetuate a justice gap that takes away a quicker, less expensive legal option for consumers in part by hurting small community banks and credit unions, concluding that Washington should be more focused on creating jobs and not more class-action lawsuits.
