Representatives Dellums and Stokes Speak to Media
U.S. House Representatives Ron Dellums (D-CA) and Louis Stokes (D-OH) speaking to media on the U.S. invasion of Grenada. Rep. Dellums states that his colleague has laid out facts that he is in agreement with, and this trip was taken with fourteen Congressional members on behalf of the Speaker of the House. This group was evenly divided among those who had supported and dissented from the President's decision to invade Grenada. He places himself among those in opposition to the President's policy, viewing the invasion as an example of exploitation of a tiny island nation amid large geo-political goals. He took the trip to see if his initial stance would be proven correct or incorrect. His position has not changed.
