House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana says answering a reporter question at a morning news conference on day 16 of a government shutdown that they did not say that and instead said none can guarantee an outcome on that, as this is part of the deliberative process with debates and discussions going on to get everybody together and build consensus, but this is not possible until they get the government operating again and stop holding the American people hostage for these ridiculous political games, because people see what is going on and they should not have border patrol agents not paid right now because Chuck Schumer wants to play political games to cover his tail.
