Speaker Johnson says Obama administration turned all pain dials to 10 in 2013 shutdown on 30th day of 2025 shutdown
House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana says answering a reporter question at a news conference the morning of day 30 of a government shutdown that the President and this Administration had done exactly what he did in the first term and that was bend over backwards to make sure that they mitigated the harm, and he explained that any administration in a shutdown scenario had figuratively a control panel of pain dials, and in the Obama administration 2013 when they shut it down they turned all the dials to 10 and they wanted it to hurt, and President Trump had done exactly the opposite.
