House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana says answering a reporter question at a news conference the morning of day 30 of a government shutdown that the Democrats did not get to shut down the government and then make the decision on who's more important than the other and which little thing they wanted to fund to relieve their own political pain, and they had one purpose and that was turn this thing back on, and Republicans had voted 14 times to fund the government and the Democrats had voted 14 times to close it, and they were imposing the pain and now they're feeling a little pain themselves.
