House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana says beginning a news conference on the morning of day 28 of a government shutdown that on day 28 of the Democrat shutdown, the true motivation of Democrats' historic obstruction becomes painfully obvious and very clear for everyone, and he wants to use simple facts about the Democrat shutdown that everybody needs to recognize, explaining that Democrats must reopen the government because the Senate requires 60 votes to break an impasse, Republicans only have 53 votes, so they must have Democrats to do it, and Democrats try to claim this is all on Republicans because they control the government, but Republicans don't control the Senate without 60 votes.
