BRUSSELS, BELGIUM - NOVEMBER 22: Hundreds of people gathered simultaneously across Belgium on November 22, 2020 to draw attention to violence against women.Demonstrators in capital Brussels gathered outside the central train station, chanted slogans, and carried banners demanding an end to violence.Protesters urged harsh punishments for those who are involved in violence against women.Also in other cities including Liege, Antwerp, Ghent, Hasselt, Mons and Kortrijk, many female protesters, who wanted to make their voices heard, shouted "enough is enough".The protest came ahead of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, observed by the UN on Nov. 25.Since the outbreak of COVID-19, emerging data and reports from those on the front lines, have shown that all types of violence against women and girls, particularly domestic violence, has intensified, according to the UN.
