ENGLAND: London:INTAlex Salmond MSP (Scotland's First Minister) 2-WAY interview from Edinburgh SOT- That poll showed us seven points ahead in the Scottish Parliament ratings - that's three years into government when we started off one point ahead / Whatever poll you take the SNP is doing pretty well / You don't win elections on opinion polls, you win them by catching the mood of the people / People are looking for local champions for the community and national champions for Scotland- Whatever poll you take the SNP are going to gain seats and if this Parliament's going to be a hung parliament I'd like to see it balanced in Scottish hands- Plaid Cymru are our Welsh sister party / Together we're being excluded from these television debates, a snub not just to our parties but to our countries and we're working together to make sure we can maximise the influence of Scotland and Wales in the next parliament / We've got to fend off the lunatic cuts in public spending being planned by the Tories and Labour / Got to spend them wasting a hundred thousand million pounds on new nuclear weapons on the River Clyde - We certainly won't be going into a coalition with either Tweedledum or Tweedledee / We'll take each issue as it comes and maximise the benefits for Scotland and Wales / We've been running a hung parliament in Scotland rather successfully / I know how to maximise influence in these circumstances and I will maxmise influence for Scotland
