'Invictus' UK film premiere: Eastwood, Freeman and Damon press conference; Eastwood on his directing style SOT- On directors doing lots of takes because they don't know what they are looking for or they are killing time because they're not sure about the next set up. They aren't abusing the actors becasue that's what they're there for! (**intermittent audio cut out**) Talks about how tight shotting in the 1930s and 1940s was to stop producers recutting films if they weren't happy with them.Damon on meeting Mandela SOT- Jokes that Mandela leaned over to Freeman while watching the film and said the guy playing Pienaar was fantastic! Met Mandela briefly and took his wife an children in to meet him. Watched Mandela bouncing his children on his lap. Big moment for our family.Eastwood on meeting Mandela SOT- Thought he was as impressive as he was on newsreels etc. Very charismatic man. When he walks in to a room and smiles you want to smile with him. Learned most about by him by studying various films and by watching Mr Freeman.Francois Pienaar (Former South African International rugby player) speaking to press from audfience SOT- Describes visiting Robben Island with the other members of South Africa's rugby team and the impact it had on him.
