Israeli forces block roads in Jerusalem for Yom Kippur amid security concerns
JERUSALEM - OCT. 1: Israeli forces closed main roads in Jerusalem to vehicle traffic on Wednesday, Oct. 1, during the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur.Authorities deployed police vehicles and set up stone blocks and barriers to block access, while drivers were forced to turn back.Yom Kippur, known as the “Day of Atonement,” is the holiest day in Judaism. It is observed on the 10th day of the Hebrew month of Tishrei with a 25-hour fast, prayer, and reflection.
