Italy, Rome, Roman Forum (Forum Romanum), Temple of Vesta - HD stock video

MS, TILT up, Daylight. The circular Temple of Vesta is located in the Roman Forum within the complex of the House of the Vestal Virgins. The temple used Greek architecture with Corinthian columns and a central cella. Since it housed the public hearth of the citizens, the roof probably had an opening at the apex to allow smoke release. The ruins date from the last restoration of the complex, in 191 AD, by Julia Domna, wife of Emperor Septimius Severus.
