Japan's Biggest Giant Butterbur Harvested

HOKKAIDO, JAPAN – JUN. 28: Japan's biggest type of giant butterbur, called Rawanbuki, has grown into best size in Ashoro, Hokkaido, and farmers there invited children to show how they are harvested. The plant grows as tall as two or three meters, with its leaves each measuring more than one meter in diameter. The Japanese butterburs are known to be good healthy food eaten simmered or pickled as leaves and stems are both rich in mineral and dietary fiber.
