Alissia Crooks Mother Talks About Who She Inspired

WS- Karen Crook, Chad Crook, and Alyssia Crook "Yeah from all types. We've gotten multiple reports about people who were about to commit suicide and stopped because they heard her story and got some hope. We've got people who were in pain and decided to get up and out of bed, a lady with a brain tumor, terminal, decided to get up and pout of bed and start physical therapy and a year and a half later shes still alive. I mean, and then just the whole gamete of thousands of cards with just well wishing. It's just been the gamete." Mother Karen Crook says about people who have been inspired by her daughter's will to live. Alyssia has a rare and painful condition called multiple pterygium syndrome (mps). After dozens of procedures and surgeries she was given the option to undergo a lifetime of increasingly painful surgeries or lose her leg. At only thirteen years old Alyssia chose to have her leg amputated. Just days before her surgery Alyssia played in her very last basketball tournament at school and the very next day after surgery was playing in again in the hospital gym in her wheelchair.
