Leopard Shark Buccal Pumping Oxygen Whilst Lying Still - 4K stock video

Certain types of sharks, namely Benthic Chondricthyes, can breathe whilst lying still on the ocean floor, such as is seen here with this endangered species Leopard shark (Stegostoma fasciatum). Buccal pumping sharks lower the floor of their buccal cavity to draw oxygenated water into the mouth and then raise the floor to push the oxygen-rich water over their gills. It almost looks like they are yawning. Location Andaman sea, Thailand.
