A lightning strike in Key West, Florida, ignited a palm tree on August 5 as a rainstorm rolled through the area Footage captured by Charles A Meier shows the palm tree engulfed in flames, despite heavy rain. 'I just got back from work during a sudden monsoon,' Meier told Storyful, 'While sitting in my car avoiding the downpour, a massive bolt of lightning lit up the sky, and the deafening sound of thunder shook my vehicle. I knew the lightning strike was close and thought it might have hit my house.'
