SPEECH - $8 Million Announced To Renovate Schomburg Center In Harlem
NEW YORK, NEW YORK – AUGUST 17: (SPEECH) Lloyd Williams, the Chairman and Co-founder of Harlem Week gives a speech after having received a proclamation on behalf of New York to L. Williams as Gov. Hochul commits $8 Million for the renovation and preservation of the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem on August 17, 2022 in New York City. Governor Hochul announces the funding as Harlem celebrates Harlem Week at The Schomburg Center – a research library of the New York Public Library. The funding will be administered through the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) and will allow “refurbishment of the building façade, replacement of windows and roof, and will allow for safety enhancements and energy-saving improvements” per the governor’s press release.
