Louisiana Congressman Troy Carter says at a news conference by the Congressional Black Caucus on race and democracy that African American members that the numbers speak for themselves, math is math, reapportionment is only fair and legal and just and we demand justice and will continue to fight for the second seat, that when individuals are granted the right to vote, their voices are amplified, and their concerns are brought to the forefront for political decision making, so protecting and expanding voter rights ensures that every citizen regardless of race, gender or background, has equal opportunity to have their voices heard in the direction they believe the nation should go, so together to demand that Louisiana and Alabama are properly represented, concluding that advocates will not retreat.
