Senator King outs Medicaid and food assistance cuts in pending budget reconciliation package to give tax cuts for millionaires

Maine Senator Angus King says in Sunday evening debate on the One Big Beautiful Bill Act a night before an extended vote series on the package that if colleagues cap the tax cuts at people making 400,000 dollars a year the cost of this bill would drop by 60 percent without any need to cut Medicaid and SNAP, noting that a millionaire under this bill gets a 32,000 dollar tax cut while a person making five or ten million dollars gets a couple hundred thousand dollar tax cut they don't need as much as people need health insurance.
