A man hiking a trail in San Diego, California, witnessed the moment a coyote scaled a tree while in pursuit of a bobcat. Bryce Pierce was walking his two husky dogs on the eastern side of Cowles Mountain Trail when he noticed a bobcat perched up a tree. Pierce saw a coyote follow the bobcat up the tree and quickly realized a pack of coyotes was hunting the feline. Footage captured by Pierce shows the bobcat and the coyote in a tense stand-off shortly before Pierce's dogs interrupt the deadlock. The footage ends with the coyote climbing to a lower branch of the tree. Speaking to Storyful, Pierce said the bobcat held off the coyote with ease. "The bobcat fought back easily.
