Michigan Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib says at a House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing that drug companies frequently mislead the public by claiming charitable programs would ensure patients who needed medications could get them, so she had asked a constituent on Social Security if she had such charitable relief but had no luck, documents obtained by the committee showed the programs actually served their own financial interests, asking Teva Pharmaceuticals CEO Kare Schultz if the company donated to third party independent charities, if those donations were financial investments, Schultz answering there were not.
