Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin says in evening debate on an attempt to table amendments to the Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act 2026 that no one said Obamacare was perfect and no one said a clean extension was perfect, but they had pushed people back into a corner as they had said they were going to pay for their tax cuts on the backs of everyday Americans by using their health care as the bail payer, asked if they could do a one-year extension, please, so that they could have some kind of conversation that the American people expected people of their stature to be having over the next year, but not in some cases have people's health insurance go up by 600 percent, and to every American watching, whether they were on healthcare.gov or on private insurance, if they were getting those notifications of an increase starting January 1, and that Republicans were the ones they should lay it at their feet because they had put them in this place.
