Monkeypox virus structure, animation - 4K stock video
Animated model of a monkeypox virus, half cut away to show its internal structure. The virus has a core wall around its central core (red), which contains its double-stranded DNA genome. Above and below the core are lateral bodies (pink). The outer envelope contains proteins that allow it to bind to host cells. It is a large virus, with dimensions of 250x200 nanometres. Infection causes the contagious disease monkeypox, which causes fever followed by a rash, like a milder version of the related smallpox. It is endemic to west and central Africa, but can cause outbreaks in other regions
