A Bangkok university launched the rapid kit this week hoping it will help to quickly identify people with the disease.
Coronavirus cases rose sharply in Thailand in March, with panicked citizens flocking to under-pressure hospitals for coronavirus nose and throat swabs which are in short supply.
Our South East Asia Correspondent Siobhan Robbins reports from Bangkok.
