Northern Irish Minister for Communities Deirdre Hargey said she is "delighted" to see Carrickfergus Castle's new roof, at the re-opening of the landmark on Wednesday following a £1 million conservation project.Ms Hargey said the 800-year-old castle will "tell the story of the past and where we have come from" and "raise our ambitions" for the future, as well as attract tourism. The fortification is one of the most complete examples of Norman architecture in Britain or Ireland.
