'He's Cranky': Rescued Bat Chomps on Banana
One bat couldn't wait to gobble down a banana after being rescued by a carer in Queensland. "He's cranky," Denise Wade says in a video she shared which shows the mammal taking a big bite of a banana. Wade wrote on YouTube that she rescued the bat, named Master Forrest, when it became stuck in a resident's backyard after it flew onto a grevillea. "Grevilleas are a favourite food source for flying-foxes and I think that Forrest flew into the small backyard, landed in the shrubbery but had insufficient room to take off again," the YouTube caption read. Wade said the bat was released back into the wild a week after the rescue as it hadn't sustained any apparent injuries. (Footage By Denise Wade/Storyful via Getty Images)
