Oregon Congressman Cliff Bentz says supporting the Pet and Livestock Protection Act, which would remove the gray wolf from the list of endangered and threatened wildlife under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, that if they were trying to make a living and keep communities viable and safe and continue to be productive parts of this nation they must manage the wolf and must delist the wolf and move management of them back to the states, and this was what Biden Administration and Obama agreed needed to be done years earlier, and the wolf listed status continued only because of judicial fiat, and university studies showed that the annual cost of the wolf to the cattle business was estimated to be $128 million each year and this number was far higher now that cattle prices were higher, and in recognition of this damage caused by wolves they were trying to bring at least some ESA reimbursement equity by providing payment to owners.
