Oregon Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici says in debate on the Save Our Seas 2.0 Amendments Act that since its creation in 2006 the Marine debris program removed 36 metric tons of debris and the programs remove projects drove more than $474 million in tourism and $248 million, and the Marine debris supported research and innovation that supported microfibers the invisible shed from tires, textiles and every day products, and it was also making targeted responsible administrative fixes to the Marine debris foundation to public-private partnerships deliver results faster and more effectively, and the Senate passed this bipartisan bill unanimously earlier this year.
