Osaka, Japan, - March 2: The elementary school under construction in Toyonaka, Osaka Prefecture. The school being built by nationalistic school operator Moritomo Gakuen on land acquired through a murky deal with the central government will not open in April as scheduled unless additional documents are submitted by March 14.The school operator, Moritomo Gakuen, has been asked to submit to the prefectural government its plans for removing garbage-containing earth found at the construction site in Toyonaka, Osaka Prefecture, as well as for financing the school.The school, touted on its website as the nation's first Shintoelementary school, has also attracted attention for its ties to PrimeMinister Shinzo Abe.His wife Akie was the school's honorary principal until steppingdown recently. The school operator had sought donations by naming theschool after Abe, although the name was dropped eventually.
