Pennsylvania Congressman Chris Deluzio says at a news conference on job cuts at the Department of Veterans Affairs that if you drove morale into the toilet, fired probationary workers, put in hiring freezes, then eliminated the positions that you could not fill because of your failed leadership that was what was happening at VA with cuts across the country, and it was simple that his answer was the Trump Administration should fully fund and staff the VA not push people into privatized care as part of a privatization scheme, and they knew this as study after study showed VA care which always should be getting better was as good or better than what private sector care was with better coordination and value especially on issues specific to military service that so many veterans experienced, and that a 2023 VA inspector general found 80 percent of community care network providers had not completed VAs required opioid safety training putting at risk veterans.
