"Plant cell division, time-lapse footage" - HD stock video
"Plant cell division. Time-lapse footage of cell division in a stamen hair from a Tradescantia plant. The cell at the tip of the stamen divides into two new daughter cells. This process is known as mitosis, the asexual replication of a cell into two new cells with identical sets of chromosomes (the genetic material). During the footage, the chromosomes form within the nucleus and replicate into two identical sets (around halfway through the clip). These sets then separate to opposite ends of the cell and a dividing line forms between the two new cells. Tradescantia plants are commonly used in laboratory cell biology experiments."
