Joe Perry Recalls When Aerosmith Played In His Hometown
Joe Perry: I remember doing a gig out in Hopedale. Because I used to have a band in my hometown and then I went into Boston, off to the big city, and hooked up with Steven and the other guys and had this band. And then we brought the band back home and the band was so much better than my other band. And I remember we rented out the town hall and put on a show. And a couple of my friends in the town who were actually in my old band, they helped run the gig. Collect money at the door, I think it was 2 bucks to get in. And after the show we got in this little room, it was this little town hall from the 20's, this little room off to the side. And we all go in there after the show with a big wad of 1 dollar bills and just threw it all up in the air. It was probably the most money we ever made in one night. It was like 200-300 bucks. It was great.
