Brazilian craftsman makes World Cup trophy replicas as fans dream of glory

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - MAY 14, 2026: A Rio de Janeiro craftsman has produced thousands of replicas inspired by the World Cup trophy, keeping alive Brazilian fans’ hopes of seeing their national team lift the original again.Jarbas Meneghini, who has been making the trophies since 1994, has produced more than 3,000 plaster replicas at his workshop near the famous Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.The pieces are made from molds, with some painted gold and others finished with a polished chrome coating.
