A scientist who is working on a male contraceptive (birth control) pill, explains diagrams that he has drawn on a chalkboard relating to male hormones: 'This hormone, which governs the functioning of the male sex glands... it also, in fact, is responsible for the sex drive... Now all this, it has long been known, is under the control of the so called master gland - the pituitary... Now this also produces hormones... [which] are responsible for the development of the testes as a whole.' On the board are written terms including, 'Testosterone', 'Leydig cells', 'Sertoli cell', 'sperm', and 'pituitary'. UK; 1971.
